We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive school environment from September. This rewarding role involves working 1:1 with a student with ASD, providing tailored support to help them access learning and thrive in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support for a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Assist with classroom activities, adapting resources to meet individual needs
- Support the student's social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Assist with personal care where required, maintaining dignity and respect at all times
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
Requirements:
- Recent, relevant experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD (essential)
- A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Up-to-date safeguarding training (essential)
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
