We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Care to lead our Health Care support team in providing exceptional care within our care home. We are recruiting one vacancy on days and one on nights. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for senior care, ensuring that all residents receive the highest standards of support and well-being. This role requires effective communication, the ability to create person-centred care plans, and a commitment to supervising staff to foster a positive environment for both residents and team members.
Duties
- Oversee the health care support team by running the shift daily, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Develop, implement, and review individual care plans tailored to the needs of each resident in a person-centred approach.
- Supervise and support care staff, providing guidance and training as necessary to enhance their skills and performance.
- Foster effective communication among staff, residents, and families to ensure a collaborative approach to care.
- Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and adjust care strategies accordingly.
- Drive initiatives that promote resident engagement and quality of life within the home.
- Maintain accurate records related to resident care on PCS and staff performance.
- Collaborate with external agencies and healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care services.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a care home and ideally with experience of mental health and substance misuse.
- Strong understanding of senior care principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Proficiency in IT systems relevant to care planning and documentation, knowledge of PCS advantageous.
- Ability to supervise teams effectively while promoting a culture of respect and teamwork.
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of seniors through compassionate care.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care are desirable but not essential.
