We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive school environment from September. This rewarding role involves working 1:1 with a student with ASD, providing tailored support to help them access learning and thrive in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Assist with classroom activities, adapting resources to meet individual needs
  • Support the student's social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Assist with personal care where required, maintaining dignity and respect at all times
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies

Requirements:

  • Recent, relevant experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD (essential)
  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training (essential)
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
