We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and supporting their early development. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, organising programmes, and promoting a positive organisational culture.
Duties
- Lead and supervise nursery staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective team performance.
- Develop and implement educational programmes that promote early childhood development in line with best practices.
- Oversee daily nursery operations, including enrolment, attendance, and health & safety protocols.
- Maintain strong communication with parents and carers to keep them informed about their children's progress and nursery activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and policies governing childcare services.
- Manage budgets, resources, and supplies efficiently to support smooth nursery functioning.
- Organise staff rotas, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster an inclusive, welcoming environment that supports the wellbeing of children and staff alike.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided.
Experience
- Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Extensive experience working directly with children in childcare or educational environments.
- Strong understanding of childcare regulations, health & safety standards, and early childhood curriculum frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and external agencies.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting resources or attending external meetings or events.
