About the role
Lead transport and distribution operations at a premium supermarket logistics hub in Greenford. You will report to the Transport Operations Manager and ensure deliveries run safely, legally and on time.
Main responsibilities
Transport operations - Manage dispatch schedules, driver allocations and delivery windows. Safety and compliance - Ensure driver hours, tachographs, vehicle checks and transport legislation are followed. Team management - Lead briefings, manage attendance and absence, and motivate drivers and transport staff. Customer service - Resolve delivery issues quickly and maintain high service standards. Performance and KPIs - Monitor driver performance, fuel efficiency and vehicle damage.
What you need At least 2 years of supervisory or team leader experience. Background in transport, multi-drop delivery, FMCG or high-volume logistics. Strong people-management and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of driver hours, vehicle safety and transport compliance. IT skills, including Transport Management Systems (TMS) and spreadsheets. Flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends. Benefits £40,000 annual salary. Weekly pay during the temporary phase. Opportunity to secure a permanent contract.
