HGV Class 1 Driver Hoddeson – Hertfordshire £20 to £21 per hour PLUS £500 SIGNING ON PAYMENT Flexible shifts and start times Minimum 8 hours Guaranteed Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting dairy products to retail stores safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. Trunking and cage work experience is desirable for this role. Key Responsibilities Operate a lorry in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Loading and uploading cages safely and securely. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Adhere to all safety protocols while on the road and during loading/unloading processes. Assist in the training of new drivers as needed, sharing best practices for safe driving and cargo handling. Requirements Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) at least one years old with up to date CPC card and tacho card. A clean driving record with no more than 6 points and no major endorsements.. At least 1 years proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles,.preferably at HGV 2 or 1 level in the UK. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods. Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading cages in to retail stores. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients. A commitment to safety and attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
