We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Fertility Nurse or Midwife to join a reputable fertility service based in Hertfordshire. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality clinical care, provide tailored support to patients, and play a key role in coordinating fertility treatments. Full training in assisted conception will be provided for candidates new to the speciality.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Care
- Provide nursing or midwifery support to patients undergoing fertility investigations and treatments.
- Carry out assessments, blood tests, medication administration and cycle monitoring.
- Assist during procedures including egg collection and embryo transfer (training provided if required).
- Offer clear guidance, emotional support and education throughout each stage of treatment.
- Treatment Coordination
- Manage patient pathways to ensure smooth and timely treatment planning.
- Deliver medication teaching and ensure consent processes are followed.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
- Compliance and Governance
- Adhere to regulatory requirements, including HFEA standards and safeguarding policies.
- Participate in audits, quality improvement activities and team meetings.
- Follow infection control procedures and clinical protocols.
- Teamwork and Communication
- Work collaboratively with consultants, embryologists, healthcare assistants and administrative staff.
- Contribute to a supportive, patient-centred team environment.

Person Specification
- Essential
- Registered Nurse or Midwife (NMC).
- Previous fertility experience.
- Strong communication, empathy and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work accurately and effectively in a busy clinical setting.
- Well-organised with strong attention to detail.
- Desirable
- Experience in venepuncture, drug administration or ultrasound support.
- Understanding of fertility treatments and patient pathways.
