We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Manager to lead the nursing team at our established fertility clinic in the North of the UK. This is a senior clinical leadership role, responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred fertility care while supporting operational performance and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will combine strong people leadership with advanced fertility nursing knowledge, playing a key role in shaping clinical standards, patient experience, and team development.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Leadership & Governance
- Provide visible, hands‑on clinical leadership to the nursing and clinical support team.
- Maintain the highest standards of patient care in line with HFEA, CQC, NMC, and internal governance frameworks.
- Ensure all clinical procedures, policies, and protocols are implemented, reviewed, and updated regularly.
- Act as a senior clinical point of contact for complex patient care and nursing queries.
- Team Management & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the nursing team, fostering a positive, professional, and supportive culture.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, rota planning, performance reviews, and capability processes.
- Identify training needs and support continuous professional development across the nursing team.
- Promote wellbeing, engagement, and retention within the department.
- Champion an empathetic, inclusive, and patient‑focused approach to fertility care.
- Ensure excellent communication with patients throughout their fertility journey.
- Handle patient feedback, compliments, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Operational & Service Delivery
- Work closely with Clinic Directors, Consultants, and Operations teams to optimise clinic workflows.
- Support service development, capacity planning, and efficiency improvements.
- Oversee stock management, equipment readiness, and clinical environment standards.
- Contribute to audit activity, quality improvement initiatives, and clinic performance reporting.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory and professional standards at all times.
- Lead clinical preparation for inspections and audits.
- Monitor incidents, perform investigations when required, and implement learning outcomes.
Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration. Significant post‑registration experience, including fertility, women’s health, or reproductive medicine. Proven experience in a senior nursing or nurse management role. Strong knowledge of HFEA‑regulated environments and fertility treatment pathways. Demonstrable leadership, decision‑making, and people‑management skills. Excellent communication and organisational abilities. Commitment to patient‑centred care and clinical excellence.
