Training will take place in Oldham. After training, the role will be based at Bredbury Industrial Park. Please only apply if you can reliably travel to both locations.
Pay: £12.71 per hour, increasing after 12 weeks
Shifts: Monday - Friday
6:30 am to 2.30 pm, then 2.30 pm to 10.30 pm (working on a rotational basis)
About the Role
Sure Start Staff is recruiting for Production Machine Operatives to join a busy production team on a permanent night shift at Bredbury Industrial Park.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for stable, long-term employment, with the position expected to become permanent following a successful temporary period.
You will be trained to operate an extrusion line producing non-woven cloth, along with carrying out packing, quality checks, and general production duties.
The work will involve:
- Fill and top up resin for the extrusion line
- Operate the extrusion line to produce non-woven cloth
- Pack finished products ready for dispatch
- Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet required standards
- Monitor and check the production line
- Print and apply labels to finished products
- Adjust machine speeds and sizes according to different products
- Follow production instructions and company procedures
- Follow Health & Safety procedures at all times
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organised working area
- Report any machinery faults, defects or issues promptly
Skills/Experience needed:
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Comfortable working shifts
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out production and packing duties
- Comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment
- Detail-oriented with a good eye for quality
- Willing to learn how to operate and adjust production machinery
- Able to follow instructions and Health & Safety procedures
- Able to commute to both Oldham and Bredbury during the training period
