Nottingham Full-Time On-site
SURE Solutions

SURE Solutions is a leading provider of CCTV solutions for buses and is committed to innovation, quality and excellent customer service. We are part of the Newbrick Group, which is backed by private equity and made up of specialist businesses in the transport and mobility sectors. With annual Group turnover approaching £20m and a plan to grow through acquisition, this is a period of real momentum for us. With that comes change, new challenges and plenty of opportunity.

Role Overview

As Group Finance Manager you will run the daily finance operation across both of the Group’s businesses, working closely with the Group Financial Controller. This is a hands‑on role where your work will be seen across the business, ideal for someone who enjoys a fast pace and variety and wants to make a real difference as we scale. You will understand the pressure that growing by acquiring other businesses can place on cash, systems, processes and reporting and you will be comfortable adapting as priorities shift.

We would welcome applications from experienced Finance Managers who have worked in small and medium‑sized businesses (SMEs), businesses that grow by acquiring others, or companies backed by private equity. We are equally keen to hear from ambitious finance professionals who are ready to step up into a broader role. As the finance team grows, there is a clear opportunity for you to manage members of the team directly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts for each Group company on time
  • Explain clearly where results differ from budget or forecast, and why, to help the leadership team make informed decisions
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and wider financial planning
  • Review financial controls and carry out internal audits to maintain accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare information for external auditors and other professional advisers
  • Take responsibility for the weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts and flag any risks or pressures on working capital
  • Keep strong financial controls and processes in place as the Group grows and brings in the businesses it acquires
  • Work with operational teams to turn sales into cash more quickly and improve overall financial efficiency
  • Oversee and manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams, ensuring effective management of supplier payments, customer collections and aged debt.
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and financial records are well maintained
  • Look for ways to make reporting simpler and quicker and improve how the finance function operates
  • Be a trusted source of financial advice for the leadership teams of the group, helping them make sound commercial decisions
  • Support operational teams, and challenge them constructively, to improve performance

What We’re Looking For

  • A qualified accountant such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, a finalist or qualified by experience with a strong background in management accounting
  • Experience in a business that grows by acquiring others, is owner‑managed or is backed by private equity
  • A background in a growing SME where being hands‑on and doing whatever needs doing is part of the job
  • Strong cash management skills, with an understanding of cash flow forecasting, working capital optimisation and experience working with invoice finance facilities.
  • Comfort working in a fast‑moving environment where priorities can change at short notice
  • Strong commercial awareness and sound business judgement
  • A proactive attitude and a focus on finding solutions
  • Confidence to work on your own initiative and take ownership of your work
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
  • The ambition to develop your career and take on more responsibility as the Group grows

What We Offer

  • Career progression opportunities as the finance function develops
  • An extra day off on your birthday
  • Contributory pension scheme, health cash plan and access to our employee benefits platform
  • A supportive and ambitious team environment
