Our client, a best-in-class globally recognised strategic advisory firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Applications Developer & Data Specialist to join their growing technology team. Reporting to the Group Head of Business Applications, you will play a key role in the development, integration, and ongoing support of business-critical applications and data platforms. You will also support data, automation, and reporting initiatives across the organisation, working closely with teams across Finance, BI, Marketing, HR, and wider ICT. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on developer with strong Microsoft ecosystem experience who enjoys working across applications, data, and integration in a collaborative, business-facing environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Application Development & Support: Develop, support, and maintain core business applications including Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance, CRM, Marketing), Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse), and collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Egnyte. Manage application environments, ensuring stability, performance, and scalability.
- Integration & Automation: Design, implement, and manage API integrations and automation workflows across business systems. Identify and deliver automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Data & Reporting: Support and enhance data warehouse and data lake solutions. Develop and maintain reporting capabilities, including Power BI dashboards and internal data tools. Define and implement data quality standards, validation processes, and ownership models.
- Architecture & Strategy: Contribute to application and data architecture decisions and longer-term platform roadmaps. Participate in vendor discussions, third-party assessments, and technology roadmap planning.
- Security & Governance: Embed secure development practices in line with ISO standards and internal governance frameworks. Support audit activities and ensure compliance across all application development work.
- DevOps & Release Management: Support DevOps processes, including release management and deployment oversight.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business teams to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions. Proactively identify opportunities for process optimisation, reporting improvements, and system enhancements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong experience in Microsoft enterprise application development and systems integration.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (FSCM & CE).
- Experience working with SQL / T-SQL and data modelling.
- Experience with Azure services (App Services, Logic Apps, Automation).
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and release processes.
- Experience designing and maintaining RESTful or Graph APIs.
- Understanding of authentication and authorisation (OAuth, SSO).
- Knowledge of secure coding practices (e.g. OWASP Top 10) and identity/access management.
- Experience integrating third-party SaaS platforms (CRM, ERP, Finance, Marketing tools).
- Strong data literacy, with experience supporting data platforms, reporting, and analytics.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
