About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a supportive school based in Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have additional learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop independence, and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs, either one-to-one or in small groups
- Support pupils with a range of needs, which may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs
- Support personal care where required, in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
- A patient, caring, and flexible approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE, Level 2/3 TA, or SEN-related training) are advantageous but not essential
