We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and confident Live-In Carer to support a client with mid-advanced dementia in a peaceful, well-connected area of Surrey. This is a unique, rewarding role within a highly supportive care package and understanding family environment.
About the Client:
- A warm, mobile individual who enjoys company and gentle involvement in daily tasks.
- Lives with mid-advanced dementia; can communicate, though sometimes with the wrong words or repetitive phrases.
- Experiences occasional paranoia - the right carer will be calm, reassuring, and skilled in redirection.
- Values privacy, especially during personal care.
- Responds best to simple instructions and gentle encouragement.
- Enjoys gardening, dancing, board games, garden visits, and music.
- Has little sense of time passing, so focus is on ensuring moments of happiness.
Key Care Principles:
- "Less is more" communication - simple prompts work best.
- If the client says "no", step away and try again later.
- They like to shadow their carer and find comfort in a reassuring presence.
- Nutritious meals should be provided; if not hungry, they can eat later.
- Fluids often require encouragement.
