We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 4 pupil with additional needs. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a key part in supporting a pupil's academic progress, emotional wellbeing and social development within a nurturing and high‑achieving environment. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo, you will help implement a personalised programme of support, including a sensory diet, while encouraging independence and building confidence.
Responsibilities
- Providing tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day to meet the pupil's educational, social and emotional needs
- Supporting the delivery of the pupil's Individual Education Plan (IEP) through targeted interventions and differentiated activities
- Implementing a sensory diet and supporting regulation strategies
- Building a positive and trusting relationship to promote engagement, confidence and independence
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, therapists and external professionals
- Monitoring progress through observation and contributing to assessments and records
- Supporting behaviour management in line with the School's policies
- Providing pastoral support and promoting positive social interactions
- Liaising sensitively with parents and carers to ensure a consistent approach between home and school
