As a Design Engineer in our Infrastructure team, you will play a key role in delivering sustainable, technically excellent, and commercially successful engineering solutions across a diverse range of masterplanning and infrastructure projects. You will support project delivery, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business development and technical governance within the UK practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client liaison and support business development
- Coordinate project delivery, resources, and design documentation
- Develop engineering solutions and lead design philosophy
- Produce preliminary and detailed designs for temporary and permanent works
- Carry out design checking, technical reporting and subcontractor coordination
- Develop erection schemes and specialist engineering methodologies
- Support Associates and Associate Directors with resource planning, technical delivery, and project coordination
- Support cost control, fee proposals, and project variations
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical support to site teams
- Ensure temporary works are designed, checked and constructed safely
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Health & Safety and RBG procedures
The ideal candidate will bring:
- A degree in Civil Engineering
- Ideally working towards chartership with the ICE, or already Chartered/Incorporated
- Proven experience in delivering infrastructure and bespoke projects
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Civil 3D, Microdrainage, Navisworks)
- Flexibility and initiative to rise to challenging situations
- Ability to take on responsibility appropriate to capability
