About the Practice
The practice is an established small animal veterinary surgery in Weston-super-Mare, with a close-knit and experienced team. The practice owners bring more than 20 years of veterinary experience each and are actively involved in the day-to-day running of the practice. They are supported by experienced veterinary nurses and non-clinical colleagues who work collaboratively and readily support one another. Regular practice and clinical meetings provide opportunities for communication, case discussion and continued development. The practice has been designed to support high-quality clinical work and includes three consultation rooms, a dedicated colleague room and kitchen, as well as separate office space.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality first-opinion veterinary care across a varied small animal caseload.
- Confidently manage routine medical and surgical cases.
- Consult with clients and develop strong, trusting relationships.
- Provide appropriate diagnostic, treatment and preventative care.
- Work with cats, dogs, rabbits and small furries.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and high standards of patient care.
- Collaborate closely with Veterinary Nurses and non-clinical colleagues.
- Contribute to regular clinical and practice meetings.
- Support a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Work independently when required during sole-charge Saturday shifts.
- Participate in ongoing CPD and professional development.
- Contribute to the continued development of the practice and its clinical standards.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a broad range of GP skills and confidence across everyday small animal medicine and surgery. Experience with cats, dogs, rabbits and small furries would be beneficial, alongside a genuine interest in delivering excellent patient care. Strong communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will enjoy building lasting relationships with clients and their pets and will be comfortable explaining clinical recommendations clearly and compassionately. They should also be a personable, collaborative and team-focused colleague who enjoys working within an experienced and supportive environment.
