About the Role
A veterinary practice is seeking an experienced Senior Veterinary Surgeon with a surgical bias to join its growing small animal team in Kidderminster, Worcestershire.
This is a permanent position offering up to £65,000 FTE depending on experience, with both full-time and part-time applications considered.
The practice can offer a highly flexible rota, including the possibility of school-hours working. The position is predominantly weekday-based, with occasional Saturday mornings of no more than 1 in 4 and no out-of-hours requirements.
As a Senior Veterinary Surgeon, you will take a leading role in developing the surgical caseload and mentoring junior clinicians, while continuing to manage a varied first-opinion workload.

About the Practice
The practice is an established and growing small animal clinic with an experienced clinical team and a strong focus on professional development.
The varied caseload includes companion animals, small furries, exotics and dentistry, providing opportunities to manage a broad range of medical and surgical cases.
This appointment forms an important part of the practice's continued clinical development. The successful Veterinary Surgeon will have the opportunity to expand the range of surgical procedures performed in-house while supporting junior clinicians with their own development.
The practice is an approved training environment with experienced clinical mentorship available, providing a supportive setting for both professional development and knowledge sharing.
Consultation times can be adapted to individual working styles, while scheduled breaks and a one-hour lunch break are incorporated into the working day. Appointments also finish approximately 30 minutes before closing, providing time to complete clinical administration and finish on schedule.
Regular team catch-ups provide additional opportunities to discuss cases, exchange ideas and maintain effective communication.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be an experienced RCVS Registered Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest and established capability in small animal surgery.
You should be confident managing a broad first-opinion caseload while having the clinical experience required to mentor less experienced Veterinary Surgeons and support high standards of care.
A surgical bias is important for this position, as you will help develop the range and complexity of procedures managed within the practice.
Strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills are essential, alongside an enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
