Hours: Full-time, 4 days per week
Weekends: 1 in 2 Saturday mornings, consults only, 9am-12pm
Out-of-Hours: None; out-of-hours care is covered externally
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a long-standing independent small animal practice in South Ruislip. This role would suit a confident first opinion vet, ideally with around 3 years’ experience, who is looking for a supportive permanent position within a friendly and well‑established team.
You would be joining as the third vet in the practice, working within a collaborative clinical environment where patient care, continuity and sensible decision‑making are central to the way the team works. Sponsorship can be offered for the right candidate, making this a strong option for an experienced vet seeking a long‑term role in London.
The Role
This is a full‑time Veterinary Surgeon position working 4 days per week, with 1 in 2 Saturday mornings on a consult‑only basis. The role will involve a varied first opinion small animal caseload, including consultations, routine surgery, diagnostics, case work‑up and ongoing client communication.
The practice is looking for a vet who is comfortable managing a general practice caseload and working as part of a small, experienced team. You will have access to good in‑house facilities and external specialist support, allowing cases to be worked up to a high standard while maintaining the personal feel of an independent practice.
The Practice
The practice is an independent, long‑established small animal clinic with a strong local reputation and a friendly, personal approach to client and patient care. Having served the local community for over 27 years, the team has built a loyal client base and offers a supportive environment for both staff and clients.
Facilities include two consulting rooms, a full surgical operating theatre, digital x‑ray, dental facilities, in‑house laboratory, blood pressure monitoring, day patient facilities and modern anaesthetic equipment. The practice is also supported by visiting specialists, including orthopaedic, ophthalmology, diagnostic imaging and dermatology services, giving the team access to advanced support when needed.
