About the Role

A veterinary practice is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join its experienced team within a purpose-built 24-hour hospital in Thurnscoe, Rotherham.

The position offers a salary of £72,000 per year and is ideally full-time, working 40 hours across four days per week, with a 1 in 6 full weekend rota. Part-time and flexible working arrangements may also be considered.

About the Practice

The practice operates from a purpose-built 24-hour veterinary hospital, providing access to advanced diagnostics and an interesting and varied caseload.

Facilities include a full-body CT scanner, digital radiography, ultrasound and an in-house laboratory, enabling clinicians to investigate and manage a wide variety of cases.

The hospital also provides three spacious consultation rooms, two dedicated operating theatres and a large clinical preparation area, alongside dedicated office and learning spaces.

The advanced facilities make this particularly suitable for a Veterinary Surgeon interested in developing expertise in diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, cardiology or neurology.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality veterinary consultations

  • Managing a varied medical and surgical caseload

  • Investigating complex medical cases

  • Performing appropriate surgical procedures

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a qualified MRCVS with a commitment to clinical excellence and high-quality client care.

You should be comfortable managing a varied first-opinion medical and surgical caseload and enjoy working collaboratively within an experienced clinical team.

The role would particularly suit a Veterinary Surgeon with an existing interest, or a desire to develop further expertise, in internal medicine, cardiology, diagnostic imaging or neurology.
