About the Role

A veterinary practice is seeking a passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its dedicated feline clinical team in Llanishen, Cardiff.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of Β£34,000 per year, with the opportunity to develop specialist feline nursing skills within a purpose-built cat-only environment.

The role offers a varied and rewarding caseload, combining nurse-led appointments, inpatient care and support with clinical procedures while maintaining excellent standards of patient and client care.

About the Practice

The practice is a dedicated cat-only veterinary clinic, providing feline-focused care within a calm, low-stress environment designed specifically around the needs of cats.

Purpose-built facilities support both routine and more advanced feline cases, with equipment including 3D dental imaging and a dedicated radioactive iodine ward for the treatment of feline hyperthyroidism.

This creates an excellent opportunity for an RVN with an interest in feline medicine to gain exposure to an interesting clinical caseload while further developing their nursing expertise.

The practice promotes a collaborative working environment where nurses are encouraged to utilise their skills and continue progressing professionally.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality nursing care to feline patients

  • Running nurse-led consultations and appointments

  • Providing inpatient nursing and patient monitoring

  • Supporting Veterinary Surgeons during consultations and procedures

  • Assisting with surgical and dental procedures

  • Supporting the care of patients undergoing radioactive iodine treatment

  • Managing patient admissions and discharges

  • Providing clear and compassionate communication to cat owners

  • Maintaining accurate clinical records

  • Working collaboratively with the wider clinical team

  • Maintaining high regulatory, operational and clinical standards

  • Contributing to a calm, low-stress environment for feline patients

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for providing excellent patient and client care.

A particular interest in feline nursing and medicine would be highly beneficial, with the role offering opportunities to develop further experience across feline dentistry, medicine and inpatient care.

You should be a caring and enthusiastic team player with strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining excellent clinical standards.

The practice is keen to support continued learning, making this an attractive opportunity for an RVN looking to pursue further qualifications, certificates or specialist clinical interests.
