About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a warm, friendly and supportive veterinary team in Charlton, London.

This role offers up to £35,000 FTE, depending on experience, with 4 days per week, just 1 in 6 weekends and no OOH, providing an excellent work-life balance.

Part‑time applications will also be considered, making this a flexible opportunity for an experienced RVN or a newly qualified nurse looking to establish their career within a progressive practice.

About the Practice

The practice has recently undergone a significant refurbishment and extension, creating a modern clinical environment with a new reception area, 6 consultation rooms, dedicated cat and dog wards, 2 operating theatres and dedicated back‑office facilities.

The team has also expanded its clinical capabilities, including laparoscopic spays and endoscopy, giving nurses exposure to a varied and interesting caseload.

The nursing and veterinary team is highly collaborative, with colleagues encouraged to share their knowledge and expertise. The practice has several certificate holders across surgery, medicine and ophthalmology, creating an excellent environment for learning and professional development.

The team actively supports nurses who want to undertake further qualifications, certificates and relevant CPD.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality nursing care across all areas of the practice.

• Rotate between theatre, clinics, hospital, preparation and nursing schedules.

• Assist with surgical and medical procedures.

• Monitor and care for hospitalised patients.

• Support the veterinary team during consultations, procedures and anaesthesia.

• Build positive relationships with clients and provide high standards of patient care.

• Make full use of nursing skills and clinical knowledge.

• Undertake Schedule 3 procedures where appropriately trained and interested, including stitch‑ups and lump removals.

• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and share knowledge with colleagues.

• Participate in ongoing CPD and professional development.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic RVN who is passionate about delivering excellent standards of patient and client care.

They should be keen to work as part of a close‑knit team, contribute ideas and continue developing their clinical skills.

Applications are welcomed from newly qualified RVNs and final‑year Student Veterinary Nurses. Newly qualified nurses and final‑year students will benefit from a named clinical mentor to provide additional support during their development.

The practice is particularly well suited to nurses who want to expand their skills and take advantage of opportunities to develop in areas such as Schedule 3 procedures.
