About the Role

An excellent opportunity is available for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a well-established and supportive small animal practice in Orpington, Greater London.

Hours: Full-time or part-time considered
Weekend rota: 1 in 3 Saturdays
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (from £30,000 - £36,000)

About the Practice

The practice has a strong local reputation and is supported by an experienced clinical team comprising three RVNs, two Student Veterinary Nurses and four Veterinary Surgeons, including a vet with a postgraduate certificate in surgery.

A dedicated support team of Receptionists and Veterinary Care Assistants helps manage the client journey and day-to-day operations, allowing the nursing team to focus on patient care and clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality veterinary nursing care across a varied small animal caseload.

• Conduct and develop nurse-led clinics.

• Assist Veterinary Surgeons with medical and surgical procedures.

• Support anaesthesia, recovery and inpatient care.

• Assist with orthopaedic, soft tissue and laparoscopic procedures.

• Provide dental and diagnostic support where appropriate.

• Maintain high standards of patient welfare and clinical care.

• Communicate effectively with clients and the wider practice team.

• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

• Contribute to a positive, collaborative and inclusive team environment.

• Continue developing clinical skills through CPD and professional development.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a genuine passion for animal welfare and delivering high standards of patient care.

They should have excellent communication and customer service skills, alongside the ability to work effectively as part of an experienced multidisciplinary team.

The role would suit an RVN who enjoys variety and wants to develop their clinical skills within a practice offering exposure to surgery, diagnostics, nurse clinics and a diverse caseload.
