About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a brand-new, purpose-built small animal practice in Manchester.

Salary: From Β£29,000 DOE
Hours: 40 hours per week
Weekend rota: 1 in 3 weekends
Shift pattern: Alternating early and late shifts

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident RVN who enjoys being hands-on across all aspects of veterinary nursing and wants to develop their skills within a modern, forward-thinking practice.

The role offers a varied first-opinion caseload, with opportunities to work across nurse consultations, inpatient care, anaesthesia, theatre, diagnostics and medical and surgical cases.

About the Practice

The practice is a modern, purpose-built small animal service in Manchester, opened in 2025 and designed to provide a high standard of clinical care.

The close-knit team includes two Veterinary Surgeons, an RVN, Veterinary Care Assistant, Client Care Advisor and Practice Manager, creating an environment where every colleague has an important role.

The practice is Gold Cat Friendly accredited and is also a recognised Veterinary Nurse training practice.

There are exciting plans to expand clinical services, including developing an orthopaedic caseload, giving the successful RVN opportunities to grow alongside the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct nurse consultations and preventative healthcare clinics.
  • Provide high-quality inpatient care and monitoring.
  • Support anaesthesia and theatre procedures.
  • Undertake diagnostic imaging and laboratory work.
  • Assist with surgical and medical cases.
  • Monitor patients throughout treatment and recovery.
  • Maintain excellent standards of patient welfare.
  • Deliver outstanding client care and communication.
  • Work collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons and the wider practice team.
  • Use initiative to support the smooth running of the practice.
  • Contribute to clinical standards and continued service development.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing learning and CPD.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a confident Registered Veterinary Nurse with first-opinion experience who enjoys a varied, hands-on clinical role.

They should be passionate about delivering excellent patient and client care and comfortable working both independently and as part of a supportive team.

Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, alongside an enthusiasm for continued professional development and clinical learning.

This role would particularly suit an RVN who wants to join a growing practice where they can make a genuine contribution and develop alongside the service.
