An exciting opportunity has become available for a talented Veterinary Surgeon to join a progressive small animal hospital in Hythe, Southampton, Hampshire. The practice is supported by an experienced team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Patient Care Assistants, and reception colleagues who work together to deliver exceptional standards of patient and client care. Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional first opinion veterinary care for small animal patients.
  • Deliver high-quality consultations, diagnostics, and treatment plans.
  • Work up medical and surgical cases to a high clinical standard.
  • Perform surgical procedures with confidence and care.
  • Maintain excellent patient records and clinical standards.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients.
  • Contribute to clinical discussions, knowledge sharing, and practice development.

  • Participate in ongoing CPD and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide occasional out-of-hours support as part of a shared rota (typically 1–2 nights per month).

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working independently while being part of a collaborative and supportive team. You will have:

  • RCVS registration and eligibility to work as a Veterinary Surgeon in the UK.
  • Experience within a small animal practice environment.
  • Strong clinical and surgical abilities.
