About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Head Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a welcoming and inclusive veterinary team in Chadwell Heath, London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head Nurse seeking a new challenge or an RVN ready to take the next step in their career and develop their leadership skills.
The position offers up to £40,000 FTE, depending on experience, working 40 hours per week on flexible shifts, with 1 in 3 weekends.

This well-established small animal practice provides a varied caseload, including a broad range of consultations and surgical procedures. It is an ideal environment for a nurse looking to broaden their clinical experience and utilise their nursing skills to their full potential.
The practice is bright, spacious, air-conditioned and purpose-built, with modern facilities and industry-leading equipment, including an in-house laboratory, pharmacy, digital X-ray and ultrasound.
The team promotes an inclusive working environment where colleagues are encouraged to share ideas, contribute to discussions and have a genuine influence on the ongoing success and development of the practice.
Responsibilities

Lead and support the nursing team, providing guidance and clinical leadership.

Maintain consistently high standards of clinical care and patient welfare.

Support and mentor members of the nursing team.

Act as a positive role model, leading by example.

Provide guidance on practice services and additional clinical offerings.

Help ensure the nursing team remains up to date with clinical protocols and services.

Deliver high-quality nursing care across consultations, procedures and hospitalised cases.

Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the practice.

Support the development and training of colleagues.

Build strong relationships with clients and provide exceptional customer service.

Remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging or emotional situations.

Encourage a positive, collaborative and welcoming practice culture.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be an experienced and confident RVN with a passion for high clinical standards and exceptional patient and client care.
They should be highly organised, approachable and an effective communicator, with the confidence to lead, support and motivate a nursing team.
Previous Head Nurse or leadership experience would be advantageous, although the opportunity is also well suited to an RVN looking to progress into their first leadership position.
A Clinical Coach qualification, or willingness to become a Clinical Coach, would be beneficial.
The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, resilience and a positive attitude to the role, while remaining attentive to the individual needs of both clients and patients.
