To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a Shift Engineer to come and join our team at our Sittingbourne factory in Sittingbourne, ME10 3SL.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Assisting The Maintenance Supervisor in his duties to safely coordinate, plan and implement effective maintenance systems for the Sittingbourne operation.
- Initiating repairs to plant and machinery in a responsive manner, in order to ensure continuity of production.
- Ensuring all compliant checks & undertake PPM as per maintenance program carrying out effectively and on time keeping accurate records for reference.
- Safely planning, prioritising and implementing agreed corrective actions within the maintenance role that arise in the day to day operation of the site and from improvement initiatives and meetings.
- Ensure that the main plant of the site (batching, mixing and concrete delivery) is prioritised and maintained to a high standard to provide an ongoing reliable supply of concrete to all machines.
- Coordinating, control and direct contractors working on site to carry out their required work in a safe and effective manner.
- Taking a proactive role in achieving and where possible exceeding standards and performance in Health and Safety, Financial, Quality and Customer Service and Environmental requirements of the business.
- Assisting the organising of essential spares as efficiently and effectively as required using supply lead times, cost and risk analysis to determine the spares purchased.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Industry Recognised Qualifications such as Mechanical/Electrical: NVQ level 3, City & Guilds Pt 1 & 2
- Sound Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Knowledge, such as Hydraulics and Pneumatics, bench fitting.
- Production Knowledge Experience
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Including Continuous Improvement Approach
