About the Role
We’re representing a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice based in Dundee, known for providing trusted bookkeeping, tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse SME client base. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a varied client portfolio, develop strong client relationships, and work within a supportive and collaborative firm offering excellent work/life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and receivable for a portfolio of clients
- Perform bank reconciliations with accuracy and efficiency
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines
- Complete payroll processing and creditors/debtors reconciliations
- Register and deregister clients for VAT
- Manage client queries relating to bookkeeping and accounting software
- Maintain accurate financial records and journal entries
- Support general bookkeeping and finance-related tasks
Ideal Candidate Profile
- AAT qualified or qualified by experience
- Previous experience in a bookkeeping role within an accountancy practice or similar environment
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and VAT compliance
- Proficient in Xero, Sage (50/One) and QuickBooks
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Proactive and reliable with the ability to manage workload independently
