The Role

A growing accountancy firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Supervisor/Manager to lead its internal payroll bureau function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of a variety of client payrolls while maintaining strong compliance and excellent service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and process multiple payrolls across varied client types and sectors
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with current legislation
• Manage auto-enrolment duties and pension submissions
• Liaise with HMRC on PAYE matters
• Train and support junior payroll staff as needed
• Recommend and implement process improvements

Requirements:

• Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience, ideally in a practice or bureau setting
• Confident with current payroll legislation and auto-enrolment requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Experience with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, BrightPay, or similar)
• Strong communication and client relationship skills
