We are recruiting reliable and safety focused Waste Collection Drivers to join a dedicated team providing waste and recycling services across the local borough. You will work as part of a 2-3 person crew, operating a commercial collection vehicle and engaging professionally with customers on your route.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a waste collection vehicle safely and efficiently
- Collect various waste types from residential and commercial customers
- Work collaboratively with loaders and crew members
- Follow designated routes and daily schedules
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with the public
Working Hours
Candidates must be flexible to meet operational needs.
- Standard pattern: Mon-Fri, 40 hours, 1 hour unpaid break
- Valid UK driving licence
- CPC card, CPC hours (PDF), and Tachograph card
- Maximum 6 penalty points (must discuss reasons before submission)
- Ability to work early starts and long shifts
- Strong teamwork and communication skills

- Passport OR birth certificate + NI card / P45 / P60
- Driver’s licence
- CPC card
- CPC hours (PDF)
- Tachograph card
- Foreign nationals: Right to work share code
- PPE: Hi vis vest and safety boots
Training
- Pre induction driver assessment (PPE required)
- 2 day induction (classroom + practical)
- Followed by on the job training
