To maintain gardens, lawns, flower beds, and outdoor spaces to a high standard, ensuring they are attractive, healthy, and safe.
Key Responsibilities- Plant, water, prune, and maintain flowers, shrubs, trees, and lawns.
- Mow grass and edge lawns.
- Weed flower beds and landscaped areas.
- Apply fertilizers, compost, and plant treatments as required.
- Identify and control pests, diseases, and weeds.
- Operate and maintain gardening equipment and tools safely.
- Remove garden waste and keep outdoor areas tidy.
- Assist with seasonal planting and landscaping projects.
- Follow health and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, and seasonal maintenance.
- Ability to use gardening tools and machinery safely.
- Basic understanding of pest and disease control.
- Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Time management and attention to detail.
- Horticulture qualification (desirable but not always essential).
- Full UK driving licence (often preferred).
- Previous gardening, grounds maintenance, or horticultural experience preferred.
- Experience using lawn mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, and other gardening equipment.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Hard-working and self-motivated.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
