The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 (LGV C) Driver to join our client's team based in Exeter. This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity servicing customers throughout Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing approximately 15-25 customer service stops per day, operating a Specialist Collection Vehicle (SCV) and emptying 1,000-litre bins safely and efficiently. This is a physically demanding role, and candidates must be comfortable carrying out regular manual handling duties throughout the working day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class 2 (LGV C) vehicle.
  • Complete daily routes across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
  • Service approximately 15-25 customer locations per shift.
  • Empty 1,000-litre bins into a Specialist Collection Vehicle (SCV).
  • Carry out vehicle safety checks before and after each shift.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety.
  • Deliver excellent customer service at each collection point.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and comply with driver regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid Category C (Class 2/LGV C) driving licence.
  • Valid Driver CPC qualification.
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Previous Class 2 driving experience preferred.
  • Good knowledge of driver hours and working time regulations.
  • Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.
  • Able to undertake a physically demanding role involving manual handling.

Pay Rates

  • Standard: £16.40 per hour
  • Overtime: £16.40 per hour
  • Saturday: £20.50 per hour
  • Sunday: £20.50 per hour
  • Bank Holiday: £21.00 per hour
