We are looking for an experienced Garden Operative Team Leader to join our grounds maintenance team. Based from our Brentford depot, you will lead a team carrying out park and grounds maintenance duties across the Hounslow area. The successful candidate must have previous experience and be confident leading a team while working outdoors.
Key Duties
- Supervise and lead a team of garden operatives.
- Carry out daily grounds maintenance tasks across parks and public areas.
- Operate strimmers, lawn mowers, hedge cutters, and other grounds maintenance equipment.
- Grass cutting, edging, strimming, and general lawn care.
- Hedge trimming, pruning, weeding, and shrub maintenance.
- Litter picking and maintaining clean, safe outdoor spaces.
- Leaf clearance and seasonal grounds maintenance work.
- Load and unload equipment and materials.
- Drive a 3.5-tonne manual company van between depot and work sites.
- Complete daily vehicle and machinery checks.
- Ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard.
- Support and train team members when required.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, or landscaping is essential.
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- Able to drive a 3.5-tonne van.
- Minimum penalty points on driving licence (subject to checks).
- Experience using grounds maintenance machinery.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Applicants must be able to attend the Brentford depot each morning then travel to sites within the London Borough of Hounslow.
