ad-hoc Waste Segregation Officer – Birmingham\\n\\nHoliday cover / sicknes cover – immediate start\\n\\nMonday to Friday\\n\\n09.00 – 5pm\\n\\nMUST HAVE SAFETY BOOTS AND ORANGE HIVIZ\\n\\nAbout the role\\n\\nAs a Waste Segregation Officer you'll be contributing to an ever-growing established company that's helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.\\n\\nWhat will I be doing?\\n\\nYou will be organising our customers waste from bin bags into the correct recycling and non-recycling bin locations. You will also be on our customers site and will have to liaise with our customers if there are any issues or additional requirements.\\n\\nWhat are the requirements?\\n\\nYou must be able to demonstrate reliability, good communication skills and a willingness to want to help our customers create a cleaner environment.\\nExcellent attention to detail as you will be organising our customers waste into recycling and non recycling bins.\\nExperience of working in the waste industry is desirable but not essential.\\nExperience dealing with customers face to face would be desirable.Overview\\nWe are seeking a dedicated Waste Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of waste materials, ensuring environmental compliance and maintaining cleanliness across our facilities.

Prior experience in waste management or mechanical knowledge is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided.\\n\\nResponsibilities\\n\\nCollect, sort, and dispose of waste materials in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations.\\nOperate waste handling equipment safely and effectively, including compactors and balers.\\nAssist with the loading and unloading of waste containers using appropriate lifting techniques.\\nEnsure all waste areas are kept clean, organised, and free from hazards.\\nConduct routine inspections of waste storage areas to identify potential issues or safety concerns.\\nFollow health and safety protocols at all times to minimise risks associated with heavy lifting and machinery operation.\\nCollaborate with team members to optimise waste management processes and improve operational efficiency.Experience\\n\\nPrevious experience in waste management, recycling, or related fields is desirable but not essential.\\nMechanical knowledge or familiarity with waste handling equipment is a plus.\\nAbility to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively is required.\\nPhysical fitness to undertake manual tasks throughout the shift is necessary.\\nA proactive attitude towards safety and environmental standards is highly valued.
