Help Keep Kent's Roads Safe This Winter

We're looking for skilled, safety-focused Winter Maintenance Operatives to support our seasonal gritting and snow clearance operations in Harrow on an ad hoc basis. If you're an experienced LGV driver with relevant winter service training, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Carry out winter salting/gritting and snow clearance across priority routes in Harrow
  • Operate specialist winter vehicles including snow ploughs and gritters (fixed and demountable)
  • Perform daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance in line with regulations
  • Be available for on-call/standby duties, responding rapidly to adverse weather
  • Follow all relevant Health & Safety, Traffic Management, and winter service procedures

Essential Requirements

  • Valid LGV Category C Licence
  • Driver CPC with current DQC card
  • Willingness to work ad hoc hours, including nights/weekends
  • Able to work in challenging weather conditions with a safety-first attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • NOCN Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Winter Services
  • NPORS N802 - Snow Plough / Gritter Training
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Experience in winter maintenance or similar Highways roles
