Risk Assessment Lead – Supporting Humanity Charity
A charity dedicated to mental health – the Risk Assessment Lead will build and run a simple, effective risk assessment framework, ensuring risks to people, data, reputation, and delivery are identified early, assessed consistently, and mitigated proportionately.
What difference will you make?
You will help the charity stay safe, compliant, and ready to grow – by maintaining a live risk register, supporting departments to complete risk assessments, and producing clear risk reporting for Leadership and Trustees.
What are we looking for?
Essential
- Experience with risk assessments / risk registers
- Strong organisation skills
- Confident communicator who can guide non‑technical volunteers
- Good judgment, pragmatic
- Good IT skills
Desirable
- Knowledge of Charity Commission expectations
- Understanding of frameworks e.g. RCSA
- Experience producing concise risk reports
What will you be doing?
Risk framework
- Create risk assessments
- Review risk assessments
- Maintain a Risk Register
- Maintain an incident/near‑miss log
- Support department leads
- Define controls and mitigations
- Support post‑event reviews
Monitoring & reporting
- Track mitigation actions
- Produce risk updates
- Flag emerging risks
- Annual risk review
