Our award-winning charity is looking for a volunteer Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records. Duties include working closely with our Head of Accounts and accurately recording all day-to-day financial transactions of our company. Your input will directly help us to record and understand our finances, which is key to our long‑term growth and to meet the Charity Commission and accounting requirements.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven bookkeeping experience
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Hands‑on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Key Responsibilities

  • Record day‑to‑day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Verify that transactions are correctly recorded
  • Enter data, maintain records and create reports and financial statements
  • Process accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner
  • Support the development of improved ways of working
  • Liaise with our accountant/auditors regarding queries and updates
  • Monitor payment platforms such as Stripe and ensure appropriate reconciliation
