Based: Leicestershire

Rate: £24,400 – 29,100 (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Start Date: ASAP – Aug/ Sept 2024

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours, 10pm – 8.15am

Our client, a national and respected Children’s Charity are looking to recruit a Waking Night Support Worker to work in one of their Family Assessment Centres in Leicestershire.

You will be supporting vulnerable families through parental assessments, whilst offering guidance and both practical and emotional support.

You will be supporting parents with a range of needs including moderate to high learning disabilities, mental health and substance misuse needs, trauma and those who have experienced abuse (including domestic violence, sexual assault and/ or exploitation).

You will be with 3 families in self-contained flats within the Family Assessment Centre and will be working with the families for a period of 12-14 weeks.

You will support them with their parenting capacity and capability, whilst colleagues from the Leicestershire County Council are carrying out parenting assessments.

You will be working to create a safe, homely and positive environment to give these families the best chance to succeed.

Essential Requirements:

Must hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare OR be willing to successfully achieve this within the required timeframe
Relevant experience working with children & young people in a children\’s home setting
Flexibility to commit to shift work, including weekends and bank holidays
Strong working knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
