Role:                                                Children and Young Person’s Therapist Based:                                             West Midlands Salary:                                            £21–£23ph (dependent on experience and qualification) Hours:                                             Full time and Part Time options available – client is willing to be flexible to meet the candidates needs Start Date:                                    ASAP – September/October 2026 Length of Contract:                4–8 months with a strong possibility of an extension / a permanent opportunity Our client, a highly respected National Children’s Charity, deliver a large integrated emotional wellbeing and mental health service for children aged 0 – 19 and their families within the West Midlands. Due to an increase in referrals and service growth they are looking to recruit several CYP Therapists and can be flexible of hours worked to match your availability. The service is delivered through a partnership between an NHS Mental Health Trust and a specialist neurodiverse charity, bringing together a range of expertise to provide accessible and effective support to children, young people and their families. The service offers a range of primary mental health interventions to support children, young people and their families who may be experiencing emerging or mild to moderate emotional and mental health difficulties. The service takes a child-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, working collaboratively with children, young people, parents and carers to promote emotional wellbeing, build resilience and support positive mental health outcomes. You will be working with a dedicated multidisciplinary team and alongside families, schools, health professionals, voluntary-sector organisations and other professionals to ensure children and young people receive appropriate support and are fully safeguarded. Role Synopsis: · Managing a caseload of children and young people and providing therapeutic and emotional wellbeing interventions · Supporting children and young people through one-to-one therapeutic sessions and appropriate interventions tailored to their individual need · Delivering evidence-based interventions, which may include counselling, CBT-informed approaches and emotional resilience work · Supporting children and young people experiencing difficulties including anxiety, low mood, phobias, OCD, anger, self-esteem, trauma, abuse and loss · Undertaking assessments and contributing to the development of appropriate intervention and support plans · Identifying and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns and making safeguarding referrals as and when required · Maintaining accurate and confidential case records in line with professional and organisational requirements · Monitoring outcomes and reviewing interventions to ensure they remain appropriate and effective Essential Requirements: · Hold a minimum diploma-level qualification in counselling or therapy, or an equivalent relevant therapeutic qualification · Registered member of a relevant professional body, including BACP, UKCP, HCPC or equivalent · Experience of delivering therapeutic or emotional wellbeing interventions to children and young people · Strong working knowledge of safeguarding procedures relating to children and young people · Understanding of trauma-informed and child-centred approaches to practice · Ability to manage a caseload and maintain accurate clinical records For more information, please call the team on (phone number removed) and ask to speak to Ria or email us your CV at .
