Role:            Refuge Support Worker Location:     Birmingham Hours:         Part-time, 21 hours per week (some flexibility required including occasional evenings/weekends) Salary:         £15,233 per annum (£25,380 FTE) Start Date:   ASAP Duration:     12-month fixed term contract Our client is a well-respected charity that delivers life-changing support to women facing domestic abuse and homelessness. Through refuge accommodation and community-based services, they empower women to rebuild their lives, develop new skills, and move towards safe and sustainable independence. Key Responsibilities: •    Provide one-to-one emotional and practical support to women living in refuge accommodation •    Develop and deliver person-centred support plans that promote confidence, safety and independence •    Support clients to secure and sustain permanent housing and manage tenancy requirements •    Facilitate life skills and wellbeing workshops focusing on confidence, budgeting, and healthy relationships •    Act as a key contact for multi-agency working, making referrals and supporting clients to attend appointments •    Promote independence by supporting clients to develop the skills and confidence to maintain tenancies •    Contribute to safeguarding processes, health and safety checks, and accurate client record keeping •    Participate in the on-call rota and provide sensitive guidance through the helpline •    Support with housing benefit claims, licence agreements, and reporting refuge maintenance Requirements: •    Experience working with women affected by domestic abuse and/or homelessness •    Strong understanding of the barriers faced by BAME communities •    Knowledge of housing systems and social housing processes •    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal •    Able to manage a varied caseload and maintain accurate and timely records •    Confident delivering support plans, workshops and contributing to multi-agency processes •    IT proficient, including Microsoft Office and client databases •    Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months or registered on the update service •    Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle would be advantageous For more information, please call the team and ask to speak to Lisa or Molly Supporting Futures Consulting is acting as both an employer and an agency for this role
