Role: Children and Family Worker Location: Ellesmere Port (with travel across Cheshire West and Chester as required) Hours: Full-time (flexible hours including occasional evenings and weekends) Salary: £26,000 per annum Start Date: As soon as possible Duration: Permanent Essential: Experience supporting children and young people affected by domestic abuse, driver and female only Our client is a respected charitable organisation providing high-quality support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse and homelessness. They are dedicated to empowering service users, promoting safety, and helping families rebuild their lives through trauma-informed, person-centred approaches. They are now seeking a passionate and motivated Children’s Worker to join their Domestic Abuse Support Service in Cheshire West and Chester, delivering support and creative activities to children and young people living in safe accommodation and community-based services. Key Responsibilities: Create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people affected by domestic abuse. Plan and deliver one-to-one and group play sessions to help children express themselves and build resilience. Organise and lead fun, therapeutic activities for families during school holidays and after-school sessions. Support parents in developing positive parenting strategies and strengthening parent-child relationships. Provide childcare during parental support sessions to allow open and safe communication. Offer practical information and guidance on local children’s services, nurseries, and schools. Work closely with domestic abuse support workers and other agencies to ensure effective safeguarding. Conduct risk assessments and maintain compliance with all health and safety standards. Maintain resources and materials to support play, learning, and parenting work. Requirements: Relevant qualification in working with children and young people, domestic abuse, or equivalent (Level 3 Diploma/Degree/NVQ) or willingness to work towards one. Experience supporting children and young people affected by domestic abuse, trauma, or adverse experiences. Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and multi-agency working. Ability to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities. Flexible and able to work across multiple locations. DBS issued within the last 12 months or registered on the update service.
