As an Infrastructure Cloud Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Supporting Education Group's cloud and hybrid infrastructure. You will be responsible for assessing, documenting, and analysing the current environment, and defining secure, scalable architectures that support both current operational needs and future growth. This role will be central to the organisation's cloud adoption roadmap, working in our London Head Office Location up to 2 days per week, supporting ongoing transformation of our existing estate and the future integration of newly acquired businesses as we continue to grow and scale the group. You will work across Azure, Microsoft 365, identity, networking, and security to define standards, establish best practice, and enable consistent delivery across the group. You will collaborate closely with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and wider IT teams, producing clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and migration strategies that allow the business to modernise at pace while remaining resilient and compliant.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
- Strong understanding of cloud and hybrid networking, connectivity, and segmentation
- Experience producing architecture documentation, diagrams, standards, and migration strategies
- Advanced knowledge of Active Directory and modern identity architectures (Entra ID)
- Strong security mindset, with experience implementing best-practice controls across cloud and hybrid platforms
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical designs
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with a pragmatic and collaborative approach
Who You Are
You are a seasoned IT professional with a strong background in Microsoft Cloud technologies, particularly Azure and Office 365. Your expertise covers Networking, Active Directory, and Cloud Security, and you have a proven track record of designing and implementing infrastructure solutions in complex environments.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assess, document, and analyse the current infrastructure, cloud, and identity estate ("as-is")
- Define target-state architecture and principles ("to-be") across Azure and Microsoft 365
- Design secure, scalable cloud and hybrid solutions using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
- Lead architectural initiatives across networking, identity (Active Directory / Entra ID), and cloud security
- Support the development of Azure governance and standardisation, including Azure Landing Zone design
- Partner with the cybersecurity team to support security assessments, implement security controls, and remediate risks
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, low-level design artefacts, and architecture diagrams (e.g., Visio)
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into practical solutions
- Ensure solutions align with compliance requirements and data protection regulations
