We deliver recruitment, workforce, SEND, and training solutions that help shape the future of education. We’re now looking for a Bid Manager to join our growing SEG Partnerships/Managed Services team, someone who combines strategic thinking, strong writing skills, and end‑to‑end project management to secure new business through compelling, compliant, and high‑quality bid submissions.
You’ll lead the full tender lifecycle: identifying opportunities, coordinating stakeholders, managing timelines, and crafting persuasive responses that showcase how our services deliver measurable impact. You will also manage framework/tender extensions and renewals, provide insights on future frameworks, and act as a trusted advisor on the education procurement landscape.
What you’ll do:
- Identify and manage bid opportunities across public and education sectors (DfE, Framework Providers, MATs, Local Authorities).
- Proactively manage all framework and tender extensions and renewals, ensuring submissions are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time.
- Lead the full bid process from initial qualification to submission and post‑bid feedback.
- Write and edit high‑quality, tailored responses that align to client needs and evaluation criteria.
- Coordinate contributions from internal subject‑matter experts across recruitment, compliance, finance, and operations.
- Develop and maintain a central bid library, templates, and standard content.
- Ensure all submissions meet procurement and regulatory standards (Public Contracts Regulations, GDPR, KCSIE).
- Analyse feedback and performance data to continuously improve quality, win rates, and commercial outcomes.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with framework clients, supporting pre‑ and post‑engagement activities and providing insights on future ITT bids.
- Track, monitor, and report on service levels, revenue potential, and pricing renewal opportunities for each framework.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the education recruitment and managed services market, competitor activity, and national/local trends to inform bid strategy.
- Support cross‑team collaboration and knowledge sharing to drive continuous improvement and commercial growth.
- Act as an ambassador for SEG at external events, promoting the organisation’s services, impact, and expertise.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in bid management or bid writing, ideally within recruitment, education, or public sector services.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills, able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written communication and storytelling ability, able to turn complex detail into persuasive, client‑focused narratives.
- Solid understanding of public procurement processes, frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and subject‑matter experts.
- Ability to provide strategic advice on future framework opportunities and government procurement trends.
- A proactive, curious mindset, always looking for ways to improve process, quality, and success rates.
- Commitment to personal development and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.
Why join us:
- Work with a purpose‑driven organisation that directly improves outcomes in education.
- Collaborate across a dynamic group of businesses, giving you exposure to a wide range of services and markets.
- Be part of a supportive, forward‑thinking commercial team that values innovation and impact.
- Hybrid, flexible working arrangements.
- Opportunity to contribute to strategic decision‑making and shape SEG’s growth in the education sector.
- Great company culture where people are at the heart of everything we do.
- Access to excellent training and development and fantastic market‑leading technology to give you the data, insights, and resources you need to succeed.
- Attractive benefits package.
- Generous holiday entitlement (28 days annual leave) which increases with service.
