Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Fully Remote

As our Lead Infrastructure Engineer, you\’ll play a vital role in ensuring the robustness, security, and scalability of our IT infrastructure. Your work will empower teams across our education brands to operate effectively, collaborate seamlessly, and deliver exceptional services to schools and learners. By leading on strategic projects and mentoring team members, you\’ll not only drive continuous technical improvement-you\’ll also help others succeed and grow. Architect for the Future: Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable infrastructure solutions across cloud and on-premise environments Drive Strategy: Collaborate closely with senior IT leaders to shape infrastructure roadmaps and influence technological direction Make Technology Work: Ensure our networks, servers, and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Entra, 365, Cisco Meraki) are reliable, secure, and high performing Lead and Inspire: Manage and mentor our Infrastructure Engineer, setting clear goals and encouraging professional development Deliver Change: Own key infrastructure projects, such as cloud migrations, integration projects and systems upgrades, from planning to execution Proven experience in a senior/lead infrastructure role Hands-on expertise in networks, servers, and cloud platforms (e.g. Experience delivering infrastructure projects end-to-end Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure tenancy migrations Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, ITIL) Whilst we work in a hybrid way, with collaboration being one of our values, we\’d expect you to regularly be in our Holborn office, at least three days per week ~28 days holiday and get an extra day for each year you stay with us, up to max 33 days PLUS bank holidays ~ Private Medical Insurance, once you\’ve passed probation, which includes access to a private GP ~ From day 1, free life insurance covering up to x4 your salary ~ We\’ll both add money into your pension pot after 3 months ~ Choose what flexible benefits you want after you\’ve passed probation – this could be buying extra holiday, dental, topping up your healthcare plan, bikes, gym membership, electric cars and give as you earn ~ Learning and development opportunities ~ By joining Supporting Education Group, you will become part of a community that is dedicated to transforming lives and sustaining communities, where your voice is heard, your ideas are valued, and your individuality is celebrated.
