We are looking for a technically capable and service-oriented Infrastructure Engineer to support the maintenance, development, and optimisation of SEG's IT infrastructure. Reporting to the Lead Infrastructure Engineer, you will help deliver robust solutions across our network, server, cloud, and security landscape. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a broad range of technologies, contribute to infrastructure improvement projects, and be part of a collaborative IT team with strong development potential.

What You will be doing:

  • Support the maintenance and improvement of core IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, cloud services, and data centres.
  • Assist in managing and monitoring LAN/WAN networks, firewalls, and other security appliances.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve 2nd/3rd line support issues related to infrastructure and systems.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Ensure infrastructure aligns with security and compliance requirements (e.g., Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO*****).
  • Work closely with the Lead Infrastructure Engineer to deliver strategic IT goals and service improvements.
  • Liaise with service providers and third-party vendors as needed.

What you will need:

  • Experience in a similar infrastructure or systems engineering role.
  • Experience supporting or administering cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune).
  • Capable in the configuration and management of VOIP telephony systems.
  • Good understanding of SharePoint administration and Microsoft cloud security.
  • Good knowledge of Modern Desktop and device management via Intune and autopilot.
  • Familiarity with virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Working knowledge of networking principles, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and firewalls.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and work independently or as part of a team.
