As our Contracts & Billing Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth, accurate and efficient operation of our end‑to‑end contract and billing processes. Sitting at the heart of our commercial and operational functions, you’ll be responsible for ensuring customer contracts are set up correctly, billing is delivered accurately and on time, and the systems and processes that underpin revenue generation are robust, scalable and fit for the future. This is a highly visible role that combines operational excellence, process improvement and stakeholder partnership. You’ll work closely with Finance, Sales, Operations and Transformation teams to strengthen controls, improve data quality, streamline workflows and support ongoing business growth.
You’ll take ownership of contract administration and billing operations, ensuring commercial agreements are accurately reflected within our systems and translated into effective billing processes. Alongside day‑to‑day management, you’ll identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual intervention and implement best practice ways of working that improve efficiency, accuracy and user experience. As a subject matter expert for contract and billing processes, you’ll support system enhancements, process optimisation initiatives and user adoption across the business. You’ll also play a key role in developing system training, documentation and governance frameworks that help create consistency, accountability and operational excellence.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Managing the end‑to‑end contract administration and billing lifecycle
- Ensuring billing is delivered accurately, completely and on time
- Supporting revenue recognition through close partnership with Finance
- Driving process standardisation, automation and continuous improvement
- Acting as process owner for contract and billing systems and workflows
- Supporting system implementations, upgrades and optimisation initiatives
- Developing training materials, SOPs and user guidance
- Establishing governance, controls and reporting frameworks
- Providing insight and performance reporting to key stakeholders
- Acting as the escalation point for contract and billing‑related queries
Success in this role will be measured through improvements in billing accuracy, process efficiency, data quality, adoption of standardised processes and the reduction of manual interventions across the business.
About You
You’ll be a highly organised and detail‑oriented professional with strong experience across contract administration, billing operations and Order‑to‑Cash (O2C) processes. Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, evolving environments, you’ll have a proven track record of improving processes, embedding controls and helping organisations move from manual or fragmented ways of working towards scalable, system‑driven operations. You’ll enjoy solving problems, challenging inefficiencies and building sustainable solutions that support business growth. Equally comfortable working with systems, data and stakeholders, you’ll be able to translate commercial requirements into operational processes that are both effective and scalable.
We’re particularly interested in hearing from individuals who have played a key role in business transformation, system implementation or operational improvement programmes, and who understand the importance of balancing commercial needs with operational control and governance.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience managing or supporting end‑to‑end Order‑to‑Cash (O2C) processes
- Strong contract administration and billing/invoicing expertise
- Experience within subscription, recurring revenue or service‑led environments
- A track record of improving operational processes and implementing best practice ways of working
- Experience supporting CRM, ERP or billing system implementations and optimisation projects
- Strong understanding of data governance, controls and data quality management
- Experience translating contractual agreements into system‑based billing structures and logic
- Knowledge of process mapping, SOP creation and workflow standardisation
- Experience supporting user acceptance testing (UAT), system rollouts and hyper‑care activities
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience delivering training, coaching and change adoption initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
You’ll thrive in this role if you are:
- Process‑driven and improvement‑focused
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Confident challenging existing practices and driving positive change
- Accountable, resilient and delivery‑focused
- Comfortable operating within transformation and change environments
- Passionate about creating scalable, efficient and well‑controlled processes
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who has experienced the realities of operational transformation – someone who has seen fragmented processes, helped design better solutions, and stayed to ensure those solutions were successfully embedded and adopted across the business.
