We’re seeking a senior media and PR officer – policy, campaigns and public health to join our media and PR team for a six‑month fixed‑term contract until the end of February 2027. The role supports the delivery of annual media plans, leverages our expertise on breast cancer, secures media profile, engages policy makers and the NHS, and communicates vital breast health awareness to stakeholders and the public.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of annual media plans for breast cancer work.
- Secure media profile to increase influence, engagement and support among target audiences.
- Engage key policy decision‑makers, the NHS, stakeholder organisations, people affected by breast cancer, celebrities and influencers.
- Communicate breast health awareness and health information to key stakeholders and the public.
- Digest and distil complex and sensitive information into compelling media copy.
- Spot proactive and reactive media opportunities to secure impactful profile.
- Work closely with the senior media and PR manager and with the wider media and PR team.
- Handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast‑moving environment.
Qualifications
- Experience working across health communications and/or media/PR environments.
- Strong relationships with senior internal and external contacts including NHS/NICE stakeholders.
- Ability to build trusted and influential relationships with journalists, stakeholders, beneficiaries and influencers.
- Pursuit of policy, campaigns and public health with a passion for breast cancer.
- Strong writing and media copy skills.
- Self‑motivation, ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Excellent time management, thriving in a fast‑moving environment.
