As Edinburgh’s principal transport provider, Lothian has been providing the city with a first-class public transport service for over a century. In more recent years they have expanded to provide the same great services within Midlothian, East Lothian and West Lothian. They operate over 70 services, through a fleet of over 700 vehicles and employ over 2,500 employees which includes over 1,800 drivers.

An opportunity has arisen for a Digital Support Apprentice to join their Head Office. Lothian have supported several QA Apprentices over the years, so you are in safe hands!

What will you be doing?

  • First point of contact for all visitors to Lothian.
  • Maintain workplace security by issuing, checking and collecting badges as necessary and maintaining digital visitor logs.
  • Triage any telephone queries and elevate where necessary.
  • Book meeting rooms when requested via in-house booking system.
  • Access files via SharePoint and assist with digital document management.
  • Arrange travel & accommodation via portals such as ScotRail and LNER.
  • Order stationery when required online.
  • Assist in calendar management for Senior Leadership Team via MS Outlook.
  • Work in collaboration with the Finance Department where needed to ensure smooth cashflow.
  • Sort and distribute mail, arrange couriers as requested via portals such as DPD and receive/log parcel deliveries, advising staff of deliveries for collection.
  • Manage retirement & long service procedures.
  • Maintain and update organisation charts.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Telephone, typing and general IT skills.

Salary: £18,540 per annum

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
