TERM: Fixed Term for 1 year. This post is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. We are looking to secure further funding to continue this project.

General Description
UPTAE? is an innovative activities and friendship project that operates through a hybrid model of in-person sessions and online activities, delivered via our specially developed Technology Enabled Care video conferencing platform. The project brings people together through a diverse range of activities, including arts and crafts, bingo, dance, drama, mindfulness, animation, and more. At its core, the project is shaped by its participants, evolving continuously to reflect the interests, needs, and aspirations of its members. This position is funded for one year through support from The National Lottery Community Fund.
Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, personable, and proactive individual to support the delivery of this innovative project. In this role, you will plan and facilitate engaging sessions, coordinate resources, and communicate effectively with members about upcoming activities. You will also collaborate closely with external specialist facilitators, providing support to ensure the successful delivery of their sessions. The successful candidate will have a talent for creating enjoyable and accessible experiences, ensuring all participants feel comfortable and able to engage in a way that suits them. We are looking for someone who is creative, confident in delivering a varied programme of activities, and highly organised. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to build meaningful connections and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment in which people with learning disabilities can thrive.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day organisation and delivery of project activities.
- Plan and facilitate engaging sessions, ensuring all materials and resources are prepared and distributed in advance.
- Work collaboratively with the Project Manager and participants to develop a dynamic and meaningful programme of activities.
- Deliver clear, step-by-step guidance during sessions to support full participation.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment, encouraging engagement and addressing barriers to participation.
- Support the development of friendships and social interaction amongst participants.
- Adapt activities creatively to ensure accessibility for all individuals.
- Facilitate both in-person and online sessions, including supporting participants to use technology confidently.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with participants and the people who support them, community groups, and stakeholders.
- Contribute to project development and evaluation through participation in UPTAE? Development meetings and ongoing feedback.
- Create engaging marketing to advertise our upcoming classes and monthly schedules, following our UPTAE? branding guidelines.
- Work alongside the Project Manager to ensure high quality activities are delivered within the allocated budget.
- Provide relevant information and written reports as required.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Demonstrable experience in facilitating arts-based projects or activities.
- Relevant qualifications and/or practical experience in an arts-related discipline.
- Strong organisational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of participants.
- Proven ability to build and sustain effective partnerships and working relationships.
- Creative and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently, using initiative and self-motivation to manage responsibilities effectively.
- Experience of planning and delivering inclusive, participatory activities with individuals or groups, particularly people with learning disabilities.
- The successful candidate will be required to hold, or obtain, membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
- Full UK Drivers License is preferable, but not essential.
Work Schedule / Work Pattern
This is a hybrid role combining on-site working at our Support for Ordinary Living, Wishaw office with remote working. Regular travel across Lanarkshire is expected on a weekly basis, and there may also be an occasional requirement to attend our Inverclyde office.
