Supplytrain is recruiting for an Electro-Technical business, looking for a commercially curious graduate who wants to build a long-term career in technical sales, account management or business development. You'll begin by learning about the company's specialist electrical products, customers and commercial operations.

Your early responsibilities will include supporting customer enquiries, preparing quotations, helping with orders and attending product demonstrations and events. However, this isn't intended to be a long-term administration or customer-service role. As your knowledge and confidence develop, you'll become increasingly involved in:

  • Customer meetings and product demonstrations
  • Identifying sales and growth opportunities
  • Commercial planning and market research
  • Improving processes and sales performance
  • Leading projects and presenting recommendations

You don't need previous sales experience or a stereotypically outgoing or pushy 'sales personality'. We're looking for someone who can listen, learn, build trusted relationships, think commercially and follow through on what they promise. You'll receive extensive product training, recognised sales qualifications and hundreds of hours of paid development time.

Long-term opportunities could include roles such as Technical Sales Executive, Account Manager, Product Specialist or Sales Engineer.

Applicants will need:

  • A degree or equivalent experience - particularly in business, management, marketing, economics or a related subject
  • A full UK driving licence
  • A genuine interest in sales, business development or account management
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The motivation to develop detailed technical knowledge
  • Good organisation and attention to detail

Working hours are 8.30am-5.00pm, Monday to Thursday, with alternate half-day finishes every other Friday. Successful candidates are likely to be invited to an assessment centre during the week commencing 14 September, with a planned October start.
