We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our engineering team and play a key role in the design, development, and lifecycle management of embedded electronic products. This role will be heavily involved in the technical aspects of projects from concept through to production, contributing across electronics, mechanical considerations, ERP systems, and product compliance activities. The successful candidate will work closely with development teams, suppliers, and production to deliver innovative, reliable solutions while ensuring compliance with relevant safety and EMC standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design of novel electronic solutions, including full life cycle from schematic and component selection to PCB layout and prototype testing, in accordance with design specifications.
- Developing embedded C/C++ firmware for PIC or NXP Embedded microcontrollers or similar.
- Must be able to examine and understand existing deployed firmware and provide bug fixes with minimal risk.
- Documenting technical solutions and processes including the capturing of the requirements of new product developments and the generation of in-depth specifications from minimal source material.
- BOM Data management for new and existing products in the ERP System.
- Functional design proving including both firmware and hardware.
- Production testing solution design and implementation i.e. Production Tester firmware/software and hardware rigs.
- Assisting 2nd line support and production teams with technical queries.
- Providing guidance to other team members.
Requirements
- Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- 6+ years’ experience in an electronic product development environment.
- Embedded electronics design.
- Embedded C/C++ firmware development.
- PCB design and schematic capture.
- Highly computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft O365.
- Good understanding of regulatory compliance (Safety/EMC).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience with project management (preferred).
